A great WordPress.com site

my indigo adventure!

I finally did it! I dyed with indigo, my neighbor grew some from seed in her back yard and was kind enough to share it with me! It was very interesting how the whole process works, we used the one day recipe from Rebecca Burgess’s book called harvesting color (I highly recommend it). I dyed all wool to make pom poms with! End results below…

After taking a long break from knitting over the past couple months, I am back at it full force with lots of new ideas to try. I have been doing a lot of designing lately, and just having fun with learning the entire process of creating something new. I am just settling in to my new studio/my mom’s new shop, it’s all very exciting and new. Here are some pictures of my most recent adventures…

Well, after taking a bit of a break from knitting for the last month or so I am back at it full speed, and this week I moved into my new studio which I am very excited about! I have been doing a lot of prototypes and tests with felting projects recently, and trying to felt without a washing machine in a timely fashion, it’s not working to well.  I have been trying to make felted potholders and bowls I have the patterns down but the felting is very unpredictable… This week I have been working mostly on a cabled alpaca sweater for my sister that has been in the works for a year now. I have started many small projects along the way such as a shawl, more felting, and a blanket for my aunt. I plan to work a lot this next week and will hopefully have lots of new things to talk about next week.

This post is mostly just a catch up post, these are all things that I have made since June the beginning of my school year. I will usually be posting more recent  photos and projects as soon as I get settled in to this new blog. In the mean time, if you are wondering more about me and my blog, please refer to the about page above.
